Introduction to continuous quality improvement
Fostering a Culture of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
The Office of Accreditation, Assessment, and Continuous Quality Improvement (OAA CQI) is dedicated to establishing and maintaining a robust culture of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) within the Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSUSOM).
The Office achieves this by:
- Utilizing Analytical Processes: Employing systematic data collection and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation across all areas of the organization.
- Driving Engagement and Training: Actively engaging all WSUSOM stakeholders—including faculty, staff, and students—and providing them with the necessary training in CQI methodologies (such as Lean Six Sigma and PDSA).
- Integrating CQI Methodology: Ensuring the practical application of CQI methodology in both programmatic and departmental efforts to achieve measurable, sustainable, and positive organizational change.
In summary, the OAACQI serves as the central resource, driving performance excellence by equipping the WSUSOM community with the tools and mindset necessary to continuously ask: "How can we make our organization better?"
